The Elfin forest totals 90 acres of pygmy oaks and dunes and is a fun place to explore. There is a mile loop of wooden boardwalk which is wheelchair/stroller accessible (click the website link above to see where to park).

This landscaped park features a playground, tennis courts, restrooms, bbq area, and is home to the Los Osos Valley School built in 1872.

This 85 acre preserve has many hiking trails. Be sure to keep kids on the trail and away from the poison oak.

Montana de Oro is truly spectacular. Take the kids to hike, bird watch, or look for shells. The visitor center has some interesting exhibits for both children and adults. Be aware of the poison oak and leave the dogs at home.
