Welcome to Parks in Paradise

We are so lucky to have such wonderful parks in this area. I can guarentee that there is a park that will be a perfect fit for you and your family! In the parks listings I try to include pictures of the play structures as that can be important to the little ones. It is a great way to try a new park or plan a fun stop if you are out and about on errands, shopping, or just passing through.

Just because there are pictures of the play structures don't forget the older kids or the young at heart. There are skate parks in many cities, as well as frisbee golf, tennis courts all over the county, horse riding arenas, soccer fields, baseball fields, and parks with fishing ponds. Many parks have great bbq facilities, nice restrooms, and handicapped access. Want a picnic with a view of the ocean and a play structure for the kids? Yeah we got that too. Kick off your shoes or play hard, either way.... welcome to paradise.

See you out there,
Amanda (founder, Centralcoastkids.com)

Here Are Some of My Favorite Parks

Parks at the Beach
Avila Beach Park in Avila Beach makes for a fun family day at the beach. Let the kids play at the park, enjoy the beach, have a snow cone, and have a fun day with friends and family.

Parks With a View of the Ocean
Dinosaur Caves Park and Spyglass Park in Pismo Beach are great for kicking back with a picnic, while enjoying a beautiful view and watching the kids play.

Parks With Something For Everyone
Waller Park in Santa Maria is a great choice if you have a wide range of ages and or interests. There is a frisbee golf course, many play strucutes, paved walking paths, many BBQ sites, a duck pond, restrooms, and even pony rides and snow cones/hot dogs on the weekend.
Lake Lopez in Arroyo Grande has fishing, boating, kayaking, hiking, play structures, and more - it is just a huge recreational area
Barney Schwartz Park in Paso Robles is AMAZING. The play structures are really fun and different, there is a lake, walking paths, and sports fields. It gets HOT HOT in the summer.

Parks and Zoos
It is just plain fun to go to the Charles Paddock Zoo in Atascadero and then walk across the picnic areas to the play structure at the Atascadero Lake Park. My kids can spend hours between the zoo and the park and it just makes for a nice afternoon.
