San Luis Coastal Adult School offers parent participation classes for parents and children ages 0-8. Class meets once a week for 10 weeks. The fee for the core parenting classes is $45.00 per quarter. Most classes run from 9:00 to 12:00 noon. Enrichment classes are for parents and children and cost only $10 when the parent is also participating in a core class. Come play and learn with us. Registration is on-going.

Evening Class Instructor Biography

Instructor Joan Rice, R.N., B.S.N., Parent Educator and Pediatric Nurse, is a graduate of Duke University and holds a California Adult Education Teaching Credential in Parent Education. She has 30 years of parent education experience. For 14 years, she was the Director of Parent Education for the Family Resource Center, a parenting center in Princeton, NJ. She is currently teaching parenting classes for Warner Bros. Studios, the Burbank Preschool Education Program, the Parent Participation Programs of Arroyo Grande and San Luis Obispo, and Allan Hancock College in Santa Maria.
