    This once a month event takes place at Dinosaur Caves Park in Shell Beach along the path where the ocean meets the cliffs. The event takes place the first Sunday of every month May through October with over seventy local artists and craftsmen selling and displaying their work. The art include paintings, sculpture, pottery, glass artist, textile, jewelry, wood and metal furniture, and much more. Along with the sale of fine arts, the event offers live music, hands-on children's activities, fresh flowers and plants, BBQ.

    Most Wednesdays & Saturdays (and some other days), take a guided hike along the beautiful Pecho Coast Trail. See the old Point San Luis Lighthouse (built 1890), as well as beautiful views of the harbor. The trail is only open during these times. Must be 9 years or older, and you must be in good physical shape. Hikes last about 4 hours. Saturday offers one fast and one slower hike.

    A special, traveling exhibit is coming to the Museum on February 2 that lets kids journey into Africa. Children will discover a Serengeti village, complete with an African market, mud hut, clay oven, indigenous costumes, musical instruments, and stories. Watch for special village events featuring African music, dance, crafts, and cooking. The village will be at the Museum until May 2. Come explore Africa with us!

    Private Hike: Nipomo Dunes @ ConocoPhillips Join Land Conservancy Restoration Ecologist and dune plant specialist, Mark Skinner, in exploring the magnificent wildflowers of the Guadelupe Nipomo Dunes. Learn about local plants that specialize in this harsh but beautiful coastal dune ecosystem as you walk through land owned by ConocoPhillips. Hikers will enjoy frequent stops to look at plants up close and ask questions. Be prepared to hike in uneven sand for up to 2 miles. Water and layered clothing suggested; Binoculars and cameras encouraged. Families welcome, but please NO pets. Driving Directions: Meet at Conoco Phillips parking lot located off Highway 1 in Nipomo. From North ヨ Take 101 south to the Halcyon exit. Stay straight on Halcyon to Highway 1; Left on Highway 1. A few miles south on Highway 1, turn right into first drive at ConocoPhillips (look for business sign). Stay on long drive until you dead-end at the parking lot.     The City of San Luis Obispo Parks and Recreation Department invites the community to the 2010 Central Coast Monster Skate Series, running from March 27 through May 29. This is a chance for skaters of all ages to show off their skills and compete in six local skate contests. At each exciting event, the top three skaters from each division will receive awards. Registration opens at 9a.m. and the cost to compete is $15. All skaters must wear a helmet and adhere to each parkメs pad requirements.
