    This once a month event takes place at Dinosaur Caves Park in Shell Beach along the path where the ocean meets the cliffs. The event takes place the first Sunday of every month May through October with over seventy local artists and craftsmen selling and displaying their work. The art include paintings, sculpture, pottery, glass artist, textile, jewelry, wood and metal furniture, and much more. Along with the sale of fine arts, the event offers live music, hands-on children's activities, fresh flowers and plants, BBQ.

    Summer Enrichment classes begin June 9th. We are currently using "ZOO PHONICS". This program is a kinesthetic method for teaching phonics which fully involves children in a comprehensive learning experience that is FUN! Zoo Phonics connects phonemic awareness and the alphabet with math, art, drama, music, nutrition, science, and social studies. We use ACIS (American Christian International Services) for our Bible lessons. Each class learns Bible stories and does activities that relate to the stories.

Due to the phenomenal success of last year's one-day event campaign, Hunger Awareness Day is back. Organizers hope to beat last year's record of $120,000 in funds raised. The Food Bank Coalition's extensive network of produce growers and brokers, markets and wholesalers, and other food sources enables the Food Bank to purchase food at deep discounts. Cash support is needed to acquire food and distribute it to more than 140 nonprofit groups to feed thousands of hungry people in SLO County.

    Tuesday and Thursday 11:30 a.m. This is a two-day workshop at Cachuma Lake for kids ages 8 to 15 years old. Kids will learn about birds and their habitats, how to identify birds, and how to use field guides and binoculars (provided). Time will be spent outdoors in the Park, on a pontoon boat, and in a class setting. This event is co-sponsored by Santa Barbara County Parks and the Cachuma Lake Nature Center.
