    This once a month event takes place at Dinosaur Caves Park in Shell Beach along the path where the ocean meets the cliffs. The event takes place the first Sunday of every month May through October with over seventy local artists and craftsmen selling and displaying their work. The art include paintings, sculpture, pottery, glass artist, textile, jewelry, wood and metal furniture, and much more. Along with the sale of fine arts, the event offers live music, hands-on children's activities, fresh flowers and plants, BBQ.

    The Exploration Station is hosting Super Sitter Class, instructed by the American Red Cross, Saturday, July 12, 2008 from 9 AM to 4 PM. Successful completion of the class will earn the participant a Red Cross certificate in babysitting as well as the skills and knowledge necessary to become a qualified babysitter. Course includes: interviewing for a job, diapering and feeding issues, bedtime issues, first aid & safety and more. Each participant will also receive a Babysitterﾒs Handbook and a DVD. Youth must be at least 11 years old to take the one-day class, and the fee is $50.00, with babysitter kits available for an additional $10. You must be pre-registered as classroom size is limited. Please register by July 10.

    Want to get wet? This trip promises to be one that will get you soaked on a hot summer day. Get ready for thrill-a-second water park action. Plunge into the six story vortex called ﾓTornadoﾔ, or Brave the harrowing high-speed water slides of ﾓBlack Snake Summitﾔ. Then kick back with your friends at ﾓLizard Lagoonﾔ recreation complex. Younger campers will spend lots of time on the gentler river ride, smaller slides, and at ﾓCastaway Coveﾔ with their group. Find whatever kind of ride will fit your speed. So get ready to have some fun and let loose while staying cool. From the highest heights to the gentlest adventures, there are plenty of rides for everybodyﾒs level. We will be leaving between 7:30 and 8:30 am for this excursion and arriving home between 7:00 and 8:00 pm. Campers need to bring a sack lunch or lunch can be provided for an additional cost.     Join us for a trip to the largest film and TV studio in Hollywood. Universal Studios has come a long way since it first opened in 1915. Today, movie-themed thrill rides and VIP backlot tours draw millions of visitors. All campers will go on a private studio tour where they can watch new productions being filmed and maybe even spot a celebrity or two! The backlot tram tour still takes you through such classic set pieces as ﾓThe Collapsing Bridgeﾔ and ﾓThe Parting of the red seaﾔ, but the real draw is the innovative special effects, packed attractions, and the thrill rides that campers will experience during this excursion. All campers will begin the day with a backlot tour.     The meeting place for all adrenaline junkies and coaster fanatics, Magic Mountain offers more G-force thrills per minute than any other amusement park in the world. Itﾒs won more awards and set more records than any other park in the world. Ride Superman, the worlds tallest and fastest; Riddlerﾒs Revenge, the tallest standup coaster; and over a dozen world-class coasters scattered throughout the park. If you are not into hurtling down a track at 90 mph, you can enjoy lots of other rides and attractions more to your speed, including Bugs Bunny World, Batman Action Theater, and The Movie District. Cars are on display throughout the Village. Activities take place around the gazebo. A Best in Show, Major's and President's trophy are awarded along with dozens of others for various categories.

This sprint distance triathlon (0.5 mile swim, 15.3 mile bike, 3.1 mile run) accommodates everyone, yet still provides a challenge for the novice and the experienced athlete.
