    This once a month event takes place at Dinosaur Caves Park in Shell Beach along the path where the ocean meets the cliffs. The event takes place the first Sunday of every month May through October with over seventy local artists and craftsmen selling and displaying their work. The art include paintings, sculpture, pottery, glass artist, textile, jewelry, wood and metal furniture, and much more. Along with the sale of fine arts, the event offers live music, hands-on children's activities, fresh flowers and plants, BBQ.

    Most Wednesdays & Saturdays (and some other days), take a guided hike along the beautiful Pecho Coast Trail. See the old Point San Luis Lighthouse (built 1890), as well as beautiful views of the harbor. The trail is only open during these times. Must be 9 years or older, and you must be in good physical shape. Hikes last about 4 hours. Saturday offers one fast and one slower hike.

    Enjoy a guided walk thru the fascinating "Elfin Forest", a 90-acre nature preserve with pygmy trees and home to endangered plants, butterflies and birds. Please stay on boardwalk and designated trails when visiting, and keep pets leashed. Walks on Third Saturday of Month. Different theme and guide each time.

    A special, traveling exhibit is coming to the Museum on February 2 that lets kids journey into Africa. Children will discover a Serengeti village, complete with an African market, mud hut, clay oven, indigenous costumes, musical instruments, and stories. Watch for special village events featuring African music, dance, crafts, and cooking. The village will be at the Museum until May 2. Come explore Africa with us!

    This riveting world music/dance program stars dedicated young Africans who are true ambassadors for Ugandaﾒs 2.4 million AIDS orphans. These children personify the resilience and promise of Africaﾒs next generation as they promote awareness of Ugandaﾒs dual crises of AIDS and civil war, while raising funds to support themselves and others displaced in their homeland.

The 5th Annual Valentineﾒs Day Father-Daughter Sweetheart Dance is Friday, February 6, 2009 at the Colony Park Community Center in Atascadero. Jimmy de, a professional photographer, will be on-site with affordable picture packages so you will always remember this special night.     The fun begins on Saturday morning with workshops taught by world class dance instructors. A variety of Western Dances, including the latest Western Line Dances, will be offered at both the Vetsﾒ Hall and the Joslyn Center.
