    This once a month event takes place at Dinosaur Caves Park in Shell Beach along the path where the ocean meets the cliffs. The event takes place the first Sunday of every month May through October with over seventy local artists and craftsmen selling and displaying their work. The art include paintings, sculpture, pottery, glass artist, textile, jewelry, wood and metal furniture, and much more. Along with the sale of fine arts, the event offers live music, hands-on children's activities, fresh flowers and plants, BBQ.
  • Hike to Avila Lighthouse

    Most Wednesdays & Saturdays (and some other days), take a guided hike along the beautiful Pecho Coast Trail. See the old Point San Luis Lighthouse (built 1890), as well as beautiful views of the harbor. The trail is only open during these times. Must be 9 years or older, and you must be in good physical shape. Hikes last about 4 hours. Saturday offers one fast and one slower hike.

    The City of San Luis Obispo Parks and Recreation Department invites the community to the 2010 Central Coast Monster Skate Series, running from March 27 through May 29. This is a chance for skaters of all ages to show off their skills and compete in six local skate contests. At each exciting event, the top three skaters from each division will receive awards. Registration opens at 9a.m. and the cost to compete is $15. All skaters must wear a helmet and adhere to each parkﾒs pad requirements.

    The City of Pismo Beach Recreation Division in collaboration with the Pismo Beach Business Improvement Group (BIG) would like to invite you to the annual Easter Egg Hunt. The festivities will be held at Dinosaur Caves Park, Shell Beach & the hunt is FREE! The celebration will include games, bounce houses, face painting, balloon artist, food provided by The Rib Line and Doc Burnsteinﾒs & much more! Participants are asked to bring their own basket or bag to collect their eggs and goodies! In addition, if everyone uses their good manners, the Easter Bunny will be visiting & may even be on-site for photo opportunities so be sure to bring your cameras! To ensure the safety of all participants, there are different hunt times for different age groups! This free, three show spring series will again feature exceptional regional musical groups as well as special family activities. Make sure you bring your lawn chairs for seating in the Rotary Amphitheatre or blankets for use on the parkﾒs expansive lawns overlooking the stage and the Pacific Ocean!     Done to colorful narration and awesome music, Kitefest 2010 will provide a rare treat for festival attendees. The expert kite exhibition will include dual lines, quad lines, LARGE kites (up to 100 feet in length!), and more. Free kite building for kids plus a mass ascension at 4:30 p.m. with all of their creations in the air together. A variety of kites will be for sale so that festival-goers, too, may join the celestial flight. A special "candy drop" by an overhead kite is scheduled.
