There are stairs leading down to the ocean in a few places here and the surf doesn't break hard so it is easier to get out. Cruise the BoardwalkTo the left of the Pismo Beach Pier is a boardwalk along the beach that is a beautiful stroll for those in strollers or wheelchairs. Fish off the PierTake your gear and join the other fisherman on the Pismo Beach Pier. (fyi: the railing is not safe for little kids) Beach VolleyballThere are beach volleyball nets at Pismo Beach north of the pier. Pismo Beach CampgroundThere is an RV park in Pismo Beach as well as camping at Pismo State Beach. Pismo Coast Village RV Resort offers satellite TV, a heated pool, arcade, and miniature golf. Pismo State Beach (which is officially in Oceano but just barely and it is really for all extents and purposes Pismo Beach) offers family campsites, and a ton of other ammenities. The Pismo Beach Clam Festival is a big event that takes place in October. There is a parade, a festival, arts and craft vendors, clam dig, and of course a clam chowder cook-off!
