Visit With The Animals

Kids and adults alike love to visit and feed animals. Whether you are looking to feed some goats, see ducks, go to a zoo, or see some of our local sea life, the central coast can give you what you are looking for.

Some of my favorites are:
The Santa Barbara Zoo: I love Santa Barbara and this is a wonderful zoo in a beautiful setting. The animals and exhibits are incredibly well tended, the snack bar has healthful choices, and the kids love to take a ride on the Zoo Train.
The Avila Valley Barn: This is a great place that we always bring out of town visitors to. The Avila Barn is wonderful because everyone from 1 to 101 has a great time here. There is sure to be something to delight everyone in your family. They have a great country gift shop, homemade candies, ice cream, and baked goods, seasonal hay rides, seasonal u-pick fruit, and animals to feed.
Point Piedras Blancas: There are not many places where you can see hundreds of elephant seals basking on the beach. These amazing (and huge) animals are a wonder to see in their natural environment.
